Charles Roberts is a director of Bottom Line Focus having
set up the business in 1996. BLF combines consultancy,
business re-engineering, company secretarial, raising
investment capital and executive search services.
The Executive Search business benefits from Charles’
commercial skills which have been gained operating
businesses spanning 110 countries. He has lived on three
continents and in 12 countries learning several languages
and gaining deep understanding of many cultures and
practices. The latter skills he brings to international
assignments when identifying skills and attributes in
candidates that would not usually be recognised by a
domestic search firm.
Commercially he is professionally qualified as a chartered
banker, accountant and treasurer. He has been a director in
multi-billion pound turnover companies with his experience
gained in aviation, banking, hotels, pharmaceuticals,
shipping, manufacturing, engineering, construction and
commodities. Head-hunted thrice into international groups,
latterly he was a key team member in taking the turnover
from £750m to £2.5 billion in three years whilst also being
promoted from CFO to MD.
Earlier in his career, Charles was responsible for advising
many of UK’s FTSE250 companies on issues ranging from
re-engineering to implementing financial efficiency
implementation techniques. (“company doctor”)
One of Charles more unusual successes was “building
an ice rink in the desert”.
Charles is an excellent leader with very strong
interpersonal skills. His incisive brain and business
skills recognise strong talent which can be applied to a
wide sector sometimes not apparent in the usual search
process. His international experience brings a substantial
advantage to our clients resulting in an outstanding record
of success in placements which have substantially reduced
client’s attrition rates and increased their
retention rates of key personnel.
